Bulldogs Play 36 Holes at Steelwood Collegiate Invitational

LOXLEY, Ala. – The Louisiana Tech Golf team had its first 36-hole day of the season Saturday, sitting in 13th after two rounds at the Steelwood Country Club.
LA Tech was tied for 10th after shooting 299 (+11) in round one and then fell three spots on the team leaderboard after shooting another 299 (+11) in round two.
Lake Juban was the top Bulldog in the first round, shooting 73 (+1) with most of his damage coming in the back nine with three birdies and six pars for a 33. It marked his second lowest round of the season.
Right behind here were the two freshman, Niilo Maki-Petaja and Jake Plumb, each shooting 74 (+2) with a pair of birdies on the back nine. The fourth score used was that of Hunter Battles who shot 78 (+6).
Juban shot another 73 (+1) in the second round for the top LA Tech score again, tying him for 20th as an individual going into the final round. Battles improved his scorecard by four strokes to shoot 74 (+2). Maki-Petaja shot 75 (+3) to put him in a tie for 38th on the player leaderboard while Will Patrick came through with a 77 (+5).
