RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Golf team plays its final tournament of the fall this weekend as one of 14 teams participating in the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of South Alabama.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
LA Tech had a 9th-place showing at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational almost two weeks ago, an event that featured three teams ranked in the top 10 in the country.

Hunter Battles was the top Bulldog at the invitational, tying for 16th after shooting 70-73-74=217 (+1) for his first top-20 finish of the season. The fifth-year senior currently leads LA Tech in stroke average this year at 72.67 after six rounds played.

Niilo Maki-Petaja is right behind Battles in stroke average at 72.78 with a team-leading three rounds at or under par. The freshman has finished in the top 35 of all three events he has played in.

Fellow freshman,
Jake Plumb, will be at the top of the lineup this tournament. He currently has a stroke average of 73.67. Seniors
Lake Juban and
Will Patrick round out the lineup for the Bulldogs. Patrick is coming a strong finish as well at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, tying for 23rd.
