RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech softball team opens its fall slate next week with the first of six exhibitions.
"We are excited to see our team play," head coach
Josh Taylor said. "We have a mix of newcomers and returnees. We are ecstatic to see what our returners have done in the offseason and what our newcomers can do. There is a level of buzz around the program right now. Our girls have been putting in a lot of work on their own time and doing everything right. We are excited to get them out on the field playing against a true opponent to see how they compete. The fall is a developmental period for us, and we will make sure everyone gets as much time as we can give them."
Four of the Bulldogs' six exhibition games will take place at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field.
The Bulldogs will open their fall slate by hosting ULM on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. before welcoming LSU-Alexandria for a 3 p.m. tilt on Sunday, Oct 15.
Following the pair of home games, Tech will make short trips to Grambling State on Saturday, Oct. 21 (2 p.m.) and ULM on Wednesday, Oct. 25 (6 p.m.).
LA Tech will be back home to close out the fall slate, taking on Jarvis Christian on Saturday, Oct. 28 (1 p.m.) and LSU Eunice in the fall finale on Thursday, Nov. 2 (6 p.m.).
