WEST POINT, Miss. – The Louisiana Tech golf team sits in 15th after day one at the Mossy Oak Collegiate, getting in about a round and a half as play was suspended in round two due to darkness.

With 36 holes scheduled to be played, the start of round one was delayed about two hours due to course conditions from rain. LA Tech finished round one shooting 293 (+5) and still have six holes left to be played in round two.

Hunter Battles was the top Bulldog after the first 18 holes, carding a season-best 70 (-2). His round included a stretch of three straight birdies on holes 9-11.Â
Thomas Henson and
James Swash each shot 73 (+1) while
Lake Juban and
Grant Smith each tallied a 77 (+5).Â

More birdies started to fall for LA Tech in round two, particularly on the front nine. Both Henson and Juban are at -1 while Smith is at E thanks to a stretch of three birdies in four holes.Â

Playing in a field that features nine teams ranked in the top 50, the Bulldogs moved up one spot from round one. Battles is the top individual thus far, tied for 50th.
