Basketball Roster Grows with Addition of Devin Ree

RUSTON – The Bulldog basketball roster continues to take shape as Louisiana Tech head coach Talvin Hester announced Monday the addition of Devin Ree, a transfer from the University of Louisville.

Ree, a 6-foot-8, 180-pound wing, hails from nearby Jackson, Mississippi and spent his true freshman season with the Cardinals.

"Our roster continues to grow and get getter," said Hester.  "Ree is a special talent that we are really excited about.  He is a versatile wing that can score in a variety of ways.  He also provides us great length on the perimeter that will help us defensively."

Ree, who initially signed with LSU before inking with UL, appeared in 16 games while totaling 14 points and 10 rebounds in 4.2 minutes per contest.

He was the top-ranked player in the state of Mississippi in high school while also being ranked as the No. 78 player in the nation in the 2022 ESPN 100, No. 82 in the 247Sports Composite rankings, and No. 123 by Rivals.com.

As a junior in 2020-21 at Terry High School, he was a First Team All-State selection after averaging 23.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game.

Ree played his senior year (2021-22) at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia where he averaged 11.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and shot 44 percent from three-point range.  Oak Hill posted a 32-8 record and was ranked ninth nationally in the final 2022 USA Today Sports Super 25 high school basketball rankings.

Ree joins recent signees Daniel Batcho (Texas Tech), Terri Miller Jr. (College of the Sequoias), and Sean Newman Jr. (Fullerton College).
