RUSTON – Louisiana Tech and ULM each netted three goals in the 90 minutes of fulltime, ending Thursday night in a draw in front of 187 fans at Robert Mack Caruthers Field.
Â
LA Tech (1-1-1) found itself trailing within the first two minutes of the match. The Bulldogs quickly rebounded with three unanswered goals in the span of four minutes to grab a 3-1 lead in the first half.
Â
ULM (1-0-2) fought back though, registering back-to-back goals in the final 20 minutes to force a tie in LA Tech's home opener at The Mack.

The Warhawks scored 91 seconds into the match when Inge Konst scored off a free kick from Libby Holmes. The equalizer for LA Tech came in the 13th minute when
Avery Kyle, seeing her first action of the season, sent a cross into the box where
Emma Jones struck with a right-footed, one-touch finish.
Â
The Bulldogs jumped out in front in the 17th minute when
Kalli Matlock sent a long ball into the attacking third where
Flavie Dube outraced her defender to flick the ball past the goalkeeper.
Â
It was less than 30 seconds later that Jones struck again with a right-footed, one-touch finish. This time it came after

Â
LA Tech would maintain its 3-1 lead for the next 55 minutes, up until ULM sliced its deficit in half with a goal scored by Janet Stopka in the 72nd minute. The Warhawks then evened things up in the 85th minute off a header goal by Lucia Lobato from a free kick.  Â
Â
The Bulldogs had one last chance to try to snatch the victory when
Sophie Fijneman had a free kick opportunity from the right side, but her shot banged off the crossbar.

QUOTABLES
Head coach Steve Voltz
Â
"This is a competitive rivalry. ULM competed really hard, and we matched it in patches but not often enough. We had moments where we could put it away. We hit the crossbar there at the end. At the end of the day, when you do such a great job in the first half, scoring some really nice goals, you have to put it away. We have to continue to grow and manage the game a little bit better. That comes from playing more. We are still fitting a couple of pieces together."
