Hall of Fame Spotlight: Lonnie Cooper

In the small town of Tallulah, Louisiana, Lonnie Cooper was a national name. A top-50 high school recruit out of McCall High School, he chose to stay close to home and be a Bulldog.

He would go on to be a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection while also leading the Bulldogs to a 1999 SBC regular season title.

On Friday, Sept. 15, Cooper will be inducted into the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame.

Louisiana Tech Athletics hosts the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, September 15, on the Karl Malone Court in the Thomas Assembly Center. The 20th Hall of Fame Class in history welcomes the 2023 inductees including two-time Ray Guy Award winner Ryan Allen, three-time All-Sun Belt Conference performer Lonnie Cooper, seven-time All-American sprinter Trey Hadnot, Kodak All-American Tamicha Jackson, All-American lineman Chris Richardson, two-time Southland Coach of the Year Andy Russo, and three-time All-American linebacker Glenell Sanders.
