TULSA, Okla. – Louisiana Tech claimed five singles wins in route to a 5-2 neutral-site victory over Omaha to close out the Hurricane Invite at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Sunday.
 
Ana Rodrigues and Valentina Vasquez made it a perfect 3-0 in doubles this weekend, claiming wins of 7-5 and 6-1 over Tulsa (3-0) and Omaha (0-3), respectively.  They were the only duo to win for LA Tech (2-1) though as they closed out the match versus the Golden Hurricane, losing 6-1, and then dropped the doubles point to open the match against the Mavericks.
 
The Bulldogs would need a comeback in singles, and they got it with five straight victories from lines 1-5.  It was Rodrigues who got the ball rolling, carrying her momentum from the Tulsa win by handling Paula Arcarons on court two, 6-4, 6-0.
 
Helping the 'Dogs take a 2-1 lead was Olga Bienzobas who surrendered just five games in a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Zoe Adkins at the top spot.  The lead expanded thanks to Tiffani Nash who dominated Addison Miller on court four with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
 
Providing the clincher was Vasquez who outlasted Khayli Buckels at the No. 3 position, 7-6, 2-6, 6-3.  The fifth straight point came from Zoie Epps as the freshman collected her first singles win, downing Keegan VanPelt by a score of 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 5 position.

LA Tech returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 20 when the Bulldogs travel down to Baton Rouge to battle the LSU Tigers.  First serve is set for 10 a.m. CT.
