RUSTON — Louisiana Tech's right-side hitter, Jailen Hurley, was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, announced by the league on Friday.
Hurley is in her junior year and is majoring in Interior Design with a 3.81Â gpa. She is a two-time Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and Academic Medalist.
On the court, Hurley has had a breakout season and ranks second on the team with 188 kills and third at 51 blocks. She has 418 kills and 128 blocks for her career, increasing her total each of her three seasons.
This year, her steady presence has been significant for the Bulldogs. She has recorded multiple kills in all but two matches, with 22 being five or more and six of 10+. She set a career-high seven blocks against Middle Tennessee on October 25. She tied that in LA Tech's sweep of FIU on November 8.
