RUSTON – Louisiana Tech's middle blocker, Rori Gray, was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team, announced by the league on Wednesday.
Gray was a staple in the LA Tech lineup in her first season. The Washington D.C. native was fifth on the team with 125 kills and second with 59 blocks. She earned the first CUSA Freshman of the Week honor after finishing with 22 kills on a .409 hitting clip and six blocks on opening weekend at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational.
She finished with 13 matches of five or more kills with a season-high of 11 against Cal State Fullerton. Gray would have seven matches with a .400 hitting clip with 10 or more attempts.
Her season-high eight blocks helped LA Tech to tie the program record of 18 blocks in a match during the rally-scoring era against Sam Houston on October 9. She would have seven blocks in Tech's 17-block performance against FIU on November 8.
