Bulldogs head south to Lafayette for the two-day event
RUSTON – After a month away from competition, Louisiana Tech returns to the tee box as one of 14 teams taking part in the 39th annual Louisiana Classics, a two-day event hosted by UL-Lafayette.

Dates: Monday-Tuesday, March 11-12
Location: Oakbourne Country Club (Lafayette, La.)
Yardage: Par 72 | 6898 yards
Stroke Play: 3 rounds/54 holes (36 holes Monday, 18 holes Tuesday)
Participants: 14 teams/88 players

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
In its last outing, LA Tech shot its second-lowest round of the season by carding a 281 (-3) to help tie for seventh at the Hal Williams Collegiate.
Freshman Niilo Maki-Petaja extended his streak of rounds at or under par to six, shooting 71-71-70=212 (-1) to tie for 21st at the tournament. He has been the top Bulldog in four events this season with a stroke average of 72.44.
Also tying for 21st as an individual was Thomas Henson, playing in his first event of the season after recovering from an injury. The senior, who had the second-lowest stroke average on the team last season, shot 73-69-70=212 (-1) in his return.
Fellow senior Hunter Battles is set to compete in his sixth event this season, having put together a stroke average of 72.73 with six rounds at or under par. He tied his season-low round of 69 in round three of the Hal Williams Collegiate.
Also in the lineup for LA Tech at the Louisiana Classics, an event they have participated in 11 times, will be seniors Will Patrick (74.78 stroke average) and Lake Juban (74.17 stroke average).
Playing as an individual will be freshman Gray Kingrea. His lone action this season was back in September at the GMAC Invitational.
