LA Tech finished in 13th

EATONTON, Ga. – Louisiana Tech closed out the Linger Longer Invitational on Tuesday, finishing in 13th on the Great Waters Golf Course.

Despite delaying the start time an hour due to freezing temps, it was still in the upper 30s when LA Tech teed off on No. 10. The Bulldogs carded three bogeys on the opening hole and never could really recover, shooting 319 (+22) to fall back a spot on the team leaderboard with an overall score of 294-291-310 (+31).

Lake Juban was the top Bulldog for a second time in the event, shooting 74 (+2). After making five pars and four bogeys for a 40 on the back nine, he dropped in birdies on No. 1 and No. 7 to shoot a 34 on the front. The senior ended up tying for 34th (70-73-74=217), his second-best finish of the season.

Thomas Henson had the second lowest round on Tuesday, shooting 77 (+5). He was followed by Niilo Maki-Petaja who carded a 79 (+7) and Hunter Battles who shot 80 (+8).

Alabama ran away with the team title, setting a new tournament record. Virginia came in second while Georgia rounded out the top three.

NOTABLES

The Bulldogs combined for 41 birdies/eagles in the event, tied for the fourth most this season.
Lake Juban had his second-best finish of the season, tying for 34th (tied for 26th at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational in October).
Lake Juban averaged 2.75 (-3) on the Par 3s for the event, which tied for first among all the players.
