NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Louisiana Tech had its four-match winning streak snapped on Monday, falling 4-2 to CSUN in a hard-fought battle at the Matador Tennis Complex.

LA Tech (10-5) fell behind early as CSUN (5-1), who came into the match undefeated in doubles, snatched the opening point with wins on courts one and two.

The Bulldogs were able to tie things up in singles though as
Zoie Epps extended her winning streak to three matches, taking it 6-2, 6-2 over Nicole West on court five.

The Matadors countered though with straight-set wins on courts three and six, taking a 3-1 advantage in the match. The remaining three courts went into a third set and LA Tech needed all three to complete a comeback.

The Bulldogs got one from the top position as
Olga Bienzobas claimed her 13th straight singles victory, the longest in recorded history, by winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 versus Sasha Turchak at No. 1.

Meanwhile,
Ana Rodrigues had forced a third set and was tied 4-all at the No. 2 spot against Yuliia Zhytelna, but
Valentina Vasquez ended up falling in a third-set tie breaker at the No. 4 position to Emma Moratalla Sanz.Â

NOTABLES
- With the loss, LA Tech now trails in the all-time series versus CSUN, 0-2.
- Olga Bienzobas improved to 14-1 in dual singles, winning her 13th straight which is the longest in recorded history.
- Zoie Epps improved to 8-7 in dual singles, winning her third straight. The freshman has won four of her last five matches.
