Plumb, Kingrea in Top 10 Going into Final Round

The freshman duo are tied for ninth on the player leaderboard after two rounds at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate
KINDER, La. – Louisiana Tech's Jake Plumb and Gray Kingrea ended Monday tied for ninth on the player leaderboard after 36 holes at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate.
The freshman duo each finished the two rounds at 141 (-3) followed by another freshman Bulldog in Reeves Pullin, playing in his first event this season and shooting 145 (+1) to be tied for 22nd. Joel Thomas Stephens was the fourth Bulldog playing at the Koasati Pines Golf Club, shooting 77-76=153 (+9).
Plumb nearly went bogey free in round one, making his lone bogey on the final hole. That did not deter an excellent round though as he shot 70 (-2), tying for his second lowest score of the season. The England native followed that up with a 71 (-1) in round two.
After shooting 40 on the back nine, Kingrea would find his groove on the front in round one. A stretch of three birdies in four holes helped him rebound with a 33 on the front, shooting 73 (+1). He carried that momentum into round two that was nearly flawless, getting to six under through 16 holes. A bogey-bogey finish though resulted in a 68 (-4), which still became his lowest round as a Bulldog.
Pullin was right there with Plumb in round one. After bogeying his first hole on No. 7, the freshman birdied four of his next five in route to a 70 (-2). Round two was more up-and-down, ending in a 75 (+3).

The Bulldogs will play the third and final round on Tuesday.
