Plumb Leads Bulldogs at Koasati Pines Intercollegiate

The freshman tied for 13th, his first top-20 finish of the season
KINDER, La. – Louisiana Tech's Jake Plumb ended up as the top finisher of the four Bulldog individuals, tying for 13th on Tuesday at the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate.
Koasati Pines Golf Course played much different in round three with 20-30 mph winds. Plumb was able to rebound from a 39 on the back by shooting a 35 on the front, including a birdie on the par three No. 7, to finish with at two over for the day and one under for the event (70-71-74=215).
Joel Thomas Stephens had the best round for LA Tech on the final day. He tied his season best with a 72 (E) in large part thanks to two eagles that came on No. 1 and No. 10, both par fives. He ended up tying for 41st among the field.
Meanwhile, Reeves Pullin (70-75-74=219) finished at three over tying for 26th with teammate Gray Kingrea (73-68-79=220) right behind him at four over, tying for 28th. Both were able to make a push into the top 30 with strong finishes as Pullin birdied two of his last three holes while Kingrea dropped in a birdie on his final hole.
NOTABLES
LA Tech will wrap up the regular season on April 15-16 at the Mossy Oak Collegiate hosted by Mississippi State.

NOTABLES
- This marked the first top-20 finish as a collegiate golfer for the freshman, Jake Plumb. In doing so, he became the fifth Bulldog this season with a top-20 finish.
- Gray Kingrea made a total of 12 birdies, tied for the third most by a Bulldog at a single event. Reeves Pullin also had double-digit birdies with 10.
- JT Stephens tied his season low with a 72 (E). His previous 72 came in the third round of the Argent Financial Classic back on Sept. 12.
- JT Stephens became the second Bulldog this season to make two eagles in the same round (Lake Juban did it at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational).
LA Tech will wrap up the regular season on April 15-16 at the Mossy Oak Collegiate hosted by Mississippi State.
