RUSTON—Louisiana Tech's volleyball head coach, Amber McCray, named Ayden Bartlett as an assistant coach on Thursday.
"We are beyond ecstatic to add Coach Bartlett to our staff," said McCray. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from training in one of the top programs in the country during her entire collegiate career, along with leadership and maturity well beyond her years. Throughout the entire hiring process, it was clear Ayden possesses all of the traits necessary to transition quickly and smoothly from the court to the sidelines. Our student-athletes will benefit greatly from her fresh perspective and ability to break down multiple technical facets of the game. Â Ayden will undoubtedly be a rising star in this profession, and we are thrilled she will get her start here."
Bartlett comes to LA Tech after spending four successful seasons playing libero/defensive specialist at Louisville.
While with the Cardinals, she helped guide Louisville to its most successful four-year run in program history. The Cardinals were 105-12 during that time, including three consecutive ACC championships and the first two trips to the NCAA Final Four in the school's history. Louisville finished the 2022 season as the NCAA runner-up.
Bartlett played in 293 sets over 103 matches during her career, scoring 385 digs and 43 service aces. Her best season came during her sophomore campaign, when she saw action in 105 sets with 171 digs and 22 service aces. The Cardinals started the season 32-0 before falling to Wisconsin in the NCAA semifinals.
"I am beyond excited to join the Louisiana Tech women's volleyball program," Bartlett said. "I am eager to contribute to the competitive culture that Coach McCray and Coach Holt have fostered. I look forward to blending my passion for the sport with established traditions and the pursuit of player and program success both on and off the court."
The Leavenworth, Kan. native has spent time coaching during Louisville Volleyball Camps and with KIVA Volleyball Club.
