Bulldogs Dominated By the Tide

LA Tech lost 4-0 to No. 24 Alabama on Friday night

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Louisiana Tech falls on the road to No. 24 Alabama after giving up multiple goals in the second half. The Crimson Tide defeated the Bulldogs 4-0 after Alabama collected 40 shots with 15 on target.

LA Tech's defense held strong until the 32nd minute when Alabama's Melina Rebimbas netted a ball in past Sarah Melén to put the Crimson Tide up 1-0. Forward Avery Kyle would get a good look at the goal but could not connect to tie the game. In the first half, Tech was outshot by Alabama 16-1, and the Bulldogs had one corner kick compared to Bama's six corners.

Later in the second half, LA Tech would give up back-to-back goals in the 54th and 55th minute after Bama's Gianna Paul blasted a goal in from the box, first followed by a Madeline Padelski goal. The Bulldogs defense allowed another goal in the 86th minute following a goal from Alabama's Nedya Swan. Tech allowed Alabama to put up 24 shots while 11 were on goal.

Goalkeeper Melén collected a season-high 11 saves against Alabama after seeing 15 shots on goal.

"I thought Sarah had another great game in the goal again," Voltz said.

"One of our four pillars in the program is humility, and this game showed us that, but now we need to take what happened tonight and use it to help us prepare for next week," Votlz said.
