Bulldogs to Open 2025 Season at Puerto Vallarta College Challenge

LA Tech will travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to open its 2025 season

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech Softball will open its 2025 season by competing in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The event, hosted by Triple Crown Sports, will take place from Feb. 6-9, as announced by Triple Crown on Friday.

The Bulldogs will be featured in the first of two sessions and will be joined by Florida State, Oklahoma State, and Northern Colorado.

OSU is coming off a College World Series appearance, while FSU advanced to a Super Regional.

LA Tech previously competed in the 2018 Puerto Vallarta College Challenge where they played against Nevada (twice), Long Beach State, and James Madison (twice).

This is the ninth edition of the event and will again be held over two sessions along the sunny and inviting Pacific coast of Mexico. Games are played at Nancy Almaraz Stadium.

The Puerto Vallarta College Challenge began in 2015 and has evolved into one of the premier tournaments designed to begin the softball season. It was the first-ever D-I softball event held outside the United States and has included programs from well-known "Power" conferences as well as the deep pool of strong mid-major schools — the Mexican Olympic team also played in the tournament in 2020.

All games will be streamed by FloSoftball.
