The 2024 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizes the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.
Zimos, who graduated with his MBA from LA Tech this past summer, carried a 3.5 GPA in the classroom while excelling on the field from his linebacker position. The Houston, Texas, native led the Bulldogs with 84 tackles this past season to go along with six tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery, six quarterback hurries, one pass breakup, and one safety. Zimos registered 10+ tackles in four games, while recording a season-high 14 stops versus Tulsa. This marks the second consecutive season Zimos has been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Pugh, who served as the team's long snapper in all 13 games earned CSC Academic All-District honors as he carries a 3.90 GPA in Engineering and Technology Management. The Alabama native was the long snapper on the punt unit all season, helping fellow Academic All-District honoree
Patrick Rea average 39.61 yards per punt. Pugh recorded three tackles in punt coverage.
Rea was named to the Academic All-District team as he boasts a 3.90 GPA in Business Finance. Rea, who hails from Australia, had 67 punts for 2,654 yards for an average of 39.61 yards per punt. He placed 23 punts inside the 20-yard line while 22 of his kicks were fair caught, ranking second in CUSA in both categories. He connected on six punts of 50+ yards, including a season long 70 yards against Nicholls.
Rouyea, a redshirt freshman, earned Academic All-District honors after posting a 3.92 GPA in Civil Engineering. The Baton Rouge product mainly saw action on special teams during the regular season, helping LA Tech return men average 24.58 yards per return on kickoffs. Rouyea saw action at defensive end in the Independence Bowl against Army as he registered on tackle.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 28, 2025.
