ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (3-2)
DJ Dudley's game-winning floater with 1.4 seconds left gave LA Tech the 75-73 victory over Indiana State this past Wednesday. The Bulldogs used a 19-1 run to end the first half and go into the locker room with a 37-26 lead. The Sycamores erased their deficit, tying the contest on three separate occasions including at 73-73. However, Dudley sank the 4-footer, the first game-winning bucket for LA Tech in the final two seconds of a contest since 2021 (Kenneth Lofton Jr. versus Colorado State in the NIT consolation game).

Five Bulldogs scored in double figures, led by DJ Dudley who had 17 points (12 of which came in the second half). It marked the fourth straight contest the team has had a different leading scorer.

LA Tech shot 50.8 percent from the field and got 55 bench points, the most in a single game this season (most since Nov. 25, 2023, versus Dillard). The bench has scored 20+ points in all six contests this season, averaging 37.20 per game which ranks 23rd in the nation.

The Bulldogs had a +12-rebounding margin, marking the fourth consecutive game they have outrebounded their opponent. LA Tech is averaging 43.60 boards per contest, which ranks 24th in the country, as well as a 8.8 rebounding edge.

After playing in 24 total minutes through the first four games, Sir Issac Herron came off the bench to play a season-high 24 minutes and register 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Kaden Cooper tallied his fourth career double-double and the first of the season with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. It marked the 20th time in his Bulldog career he has led LA Tech on the boards in a single game.

ABOUT ALCORN STATE (1-7)
Alcorn State notched its first victory of the season on Friday against Indiana State in LA Tech's MTE, hanging on to defeat the Sycamores 81-74. The Braves had as much as a 22-point lead in the second half, but without a late rally to get into the win column.

Prior to the victory, Alcorn State had lost seven straight to stiff competition, all coming on the road against Florida State, South Alabama, Minnesota, Maryland, Howard, LSU, and Oklahoma.

Four different Braves average at least nine points per game, led by Shane Lancaster who is averaging 11.4 points per contest. The guard, who is shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 51.6 percent from beyond the arc, has scored in double figures four times this season including a 25-point effort at South Alabama.

Despite only going 6-of-20 from long range against Indiana State, Alcorn State is still shooting 37.5 percent from three as a team. The Braves have shot over 35 percent in six of their eight games, making at least eight triples in five of those.

THE SERIES
LA Tech leads the all-time series against Alcorn State, 3-0. Despite being just 150 minutes apart, LA Tech and Alcorn State have only faced each other three times on the hardwood.

And in all three cases, the games came in multi-team events. The first matchup came in 1985 as part of the Indiana Classic in Bloomington, Indiana. The second contest happened in 2007 in the Gulf Coast Classic in Biloxi, Mississippi. The last meeting came in Ruston in 2016 (Bulldogs won 98-65) and was part of the California Bears Classic where the Bulldogs got three homes and then played at Cal.
