ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (18-9, 7-7 CUSA)
LA Tech got back into the win column on Thursday with an 85- 74 victory at Middle Tennessee. It marked the Bulldogs 18th win of the season, marking the 12th time in the last 14 seasons they have won 18+ games.

While the Bulldogs have lost their last two home games, they have now won their last two road games (FIU and MTSU). In those two victories, LA Tech has trailed by a total of 23 seconds.

LA Tech had one of its best performances in league play against Middle Tennessee. The Bulldogs hit 10 three-pointers, tallied nine steals, and committed just seven turnovers, all of which were the best statistics in a CUSA game this season.

Al Green scored the first eight points of the game at MTSU. He ended with 16 points, marking his 10th double-digit scoring game this season. He knocked down three triples and has nwo made at least three three-pointers in five of the last 10 games. The team's leader in three-point percentage (41.0) has made 22 threes in the last 10 games and is shooting 51.2 percent from beyond the arc during that span.

Sean Newman Jr. scored a game-high 23 points against the Blue Raiders, his fourth 20+ scoring performance of the season. He went a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line, becoming just the eighth Bulldog in program history to shoot 100 percent from the line (min. 10 attempts). He is currently shooting a league-best 93.8 percent in CUSA games only (45-of-48). He also registered six assists, giving him 223 for the season which ranks third in the country and is the third most in a single season in program history. His 8.3 assists per game is also third in the nation.

Despite foul trouble, Daniel Batcho tallied 10 points versus the Blue Raiders. He is now shooting 68.8 percent from the field, which ranks second in the country. He now has 900 career points as a Bulldog (played in 55 games). The power forward also has 57 blocks on the season, 15th most in the nation.

Amaree Abram was a +23 against MTSU, recording 14 points and a career-high eight rebounds. He ranks second in the team in scoring at 12.0 points per game and leads the squad in made three-pointers with 56. He has hit multiple three-pointers in 19 of the 27 games played this season.

Kaden Cooper led the Bulldogs in rebounding for the 15th time this season with a game-high 11 boards at MTSU. It marked the 11th time this season with 10+ boards in a game. The guard ranks first in CUSA and 48th in the country in defensive rebounds per game (6.04).

ABOUT WKU (14-12, 5-8 CUSA)
Following a three-game winning streak in conference, WKU has now lost four straight to Kennesaw State, Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, and most recently a 78-62 loss to Sam Houston this past Thursday. The Hilltoppers led for just under two minutes versus the Bearkats and were held to 33.8 percent shooting from the field. WKU is alone in eighth place in the CUSA standings.

Despite scoring just 62 points against Sam Houston, their second fewest this season, the Hilltoppers still rank second in the league in scoring at 77.2 points per game (are also second in league games only at 73.7 points). This is in large part a result of their pace of play, ranking eighth in the country in tempo.

WKU shoots a lot of threes, averaging 25.5 three-point attempts per game which is the third most in the conference (have taken 339 threes in league play, the most of any team). As a result, they are 8.7 made triples per game.

Don McHenry is the top scoring target for WKU, averaging 17.8 points per game. The guard has scored 20+ points 12 times this season and recently had a string of five straight games with at least points including a 30-point performance at Kennesaw State. He thrives on getting to the free throw line, a place where he is 83.5 percent for the season. In league play, he has made 64 free throws, which is the second most of anyone.

Much like LA Tech, WKU has been hit hard by the injury bug this season. Babacar Faye, who was averaging 15.2 points per game, has not played since Dec. 14 while Julius Thedford, who was averaging 12.4 points per contest, has been out over a month.

THE SERIES
LA Tech and WKU have met 45 times on the hardwood with the Bulldogs holding a slim 23-22 advantage. The series dates all the way back to 1928.  LA Tech won the first of two matchups this season with a 77-67 victory in Ruston.

The two programs spent 10 seasons as league foes in the Sun Belt Conference (1991-01) and are now in their 11th season together as league foes in CUSA. Since becoming league foes again, it has been a highly competitive series with LA Tech owning a 10-7 edge (12 of the last 16 meetings have been decided by 10 points or less or in overtime -- three OT games).
