ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (15-14, 8-10)
Louisiana Tech ended the regular season with a 69-51 win over UTEP. Paris Bradley had her fourth straight 20-point game with a game-high 24 points. Jianna Morris added 15 and Averi Aaron had 11.
After a sensational freshman campaign, Bradley secured CUSA Freshman of the Year and First Team All-CUSA, the first Lady Techster to win Freshman of the Year since Erica Smith-Taylor in 2002 in the WAC. On the season, Bradley is fifth in the league with 14.5 points a game, increasing her average by nearly five points during conference play with a 17.3 average. She is the first freshman at LA Tech with 400 points since Tamicha Jackson during the 1996-97 season.
Morris has been hot over the past four games. The sophomore is averaging 16.25 points over that span. A season after playing the second most minutes by a Lady Techster freshman, Morris has already cracked the top 10 as a sophomore and will move into the top five. The 5-7 guard also ranks inside the top five in three-pointers made, three-pointers attempted, free throws made, and free throws attempted.
Jordan Marshall is another freshman playing at a high level all season. The 6-0 forward ranks third in CUSA in rebounds (246) and fourth in rebounds per game (8.5). Her nine double-doubles rank second in the nation among freshmen. Marshall has also found herself in the top 10 for rebounds, free throws made, and free throws attempted.
ABOUT NEW MEXICO STATE (17-14, 10-8)
New Mexico State comes into the conference tournament winners of two straight after beating Sam Houston 64-56 on Saturday. CUSA Player of the Year, Molly Kaiser, was the only Aggie to score in double figures with 20 points.
Kaiser is one of the best scorers in the country and does it in a multitude of ways. Her 20.7 ppg ranks 15th in the nation and her 48.0 percent from the field ranks 25th among guards and 95th overall. The grad student's 1.74 steals a game lead to transition points, while she also has gotten to the free throw line 224 times this season, the ninth most in the country.
Fanta Gassama is a post threat for the Aggies. Her 9.1 points per game are second on the team and she has a team-high 8.5 boards per game. An average of 7.1 boards come on the defensive side, ranking third in the conference and 80th overall.
New Mexico State looks to force teams into turnovers and push the ball in transition. Their 19.19 turnovers forced a game and +4.16 turnover margin ranks in the top 50 in the country. Almost half of that (9.9) comes by way of steals, the 47th most in the nation.
