RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech track and field teams will open the outdoor season with a trip to Waco, Texas, for the Clyde Hart Classic hosted by Baylor at the Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium on Saturday.

ABOUT LA TECH
Louisiana Tech finished the indoor season with 11 podium finishes and four conference champions at the Conference USA Indoor Championship. Osaretin Joy Usenbor, Sabastian Bradley-Reed and both 4x400 relay teams took home the gold medals. Usenbor and Bradley-Reed swept the 400m, the first time the Bulldogs swept the event since 2011.
LA Tech returns four athletes who made it to the NCAA Regional last season.
Karo Oghomi and Valentino Rudolph look to make a repeat appearance in their sophomore season. Last year, Oghomi qualified with a 10.20 in the 100m before finishing with a 10.88 at the regional. Rudolph had a 20.73 qualifying time and ran a 21.34 in Lexington.
On the women's side, Maria Ferreiro Pena and A'reil Williams will try to make it back for a second time. Ferreiro Pena launched a qualifying throw of 45.05m in the javelin and had a distance of 42.65m at the East Regional. Williams had the third-best height in program history, with 1.76m in the high jump before closing out the season at 1.66m.
Usenbor, Williams and the men's 4x100 and 4x100 relay teams are reigning CUSA outdoor champions.
