Williams Takes Second at the Pepsi Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A'reil Williams tied her outdoor personal best and third-best height in program history to win silver at the Pepsi Florida Relays at the James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track on Friday.
 
Williams was one of four athletes to clear the 1.76m (5-9.75) mark in the women's high jump collegiate division. The indoor record holder tied her outdoor best mark, which she achieved twice during her freshman campaign.
 
The women's 4x400 team of Jamara Patterson, Osaretin Joy Usenbor, Jenaia Williams and Nia Wiley moved into fifth all-time on the program's performance list with a time of 3:33.93 to win their heat, qualifying for the finals on Saturday.
 
The men's team missed out on qualifying by just a second but had the seventh-fastest time in LA Tech history. Mekhi Gammons, Frank Bradley-Reed, Laeden Tucker and Valentino Rudolph ran a 3:08.27 to finish fifth in their heat but 10th overall.
