ABOUT LA TECH
Louisiana Tech enters the meet with some top marks in the league this season. The men have 22 athletes inside the top 10, and the women have 15 marks.
Â
On the men's side,
Abdulraof Oriade Rashid ranks in the top 10 in three events. His time of 10.30 in the 100m at the Jim Mize Invitational ranks him seventh in the league, while his 20.86 at the Clyde Hart Classic in the 200m ranks sixth. He was also part of the 4x100 relay team that ran a 39.67 at the LSU Alumni Gold for the fourth-fastest time in the conference.
Â
Sabastian Bradley-Reed is another Bulldog with multiple marks in the top 10 with four. His 45.98 in the 400m at the LSU Alumni Gold is the top mark in the league, along with the 4x400's 3:06.16 at the same meet. He was also part of the 4x100 team and has a 21.00 in the 200m from the Clyde Hart Classic that ranks 10th.
Â
The other Bulldog with a top mark is
Oscar Smith in the 110m hurdles. The senior transfer is looking to make his third NCAA Regional after qualifying twice at Ohio State. His mark of 13.55 at LSU is the eighth fastest in program history and the top mark in the league this season.
Â
The women have five marks in the league's top two, lead by
Jamara Patterson with two of her own.
Â
Patterson holds the second fastest time in program history in the 400m with a 52.66 at the Maroon and White Tune-Up. The sophomore teamed up with
Tyhra Charles,
Faith Tarver and
Nia Wiley to run the fifth fastest time in program history in the 4x400 at the LSU Alumni Gold with a time of 3:33.86, placing them four seconds faster than the next closest school in CUSA.
Â
Osaretin Joy Usenbor held the second fastest mark in program history in the 400m for a week after running a 52.71 at the LSU Alumni Gold. She currently ranks second in the conference and 31st in the NCAA East Regional.
Â
LA Tech is looking to get a second straight 100m hurdler to qualify for the NCAA Regional with Florida A&M transfer
Kimeone McLeod. The senior ran a personal best of 13.35 at the Arkansas Spring Invitational for the second-fastest time in the league this season.
Â
There is no surprise at the top spot in the high jump. Reigning CUSA Outdoor champion
A'reil Williams is back at the top spot. Her height of 5-9.25 at the Florida Relays is tied for the third-highest jump in program history.
