RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech track and field teams kick off the NCAA East Regional with the first rounds hosted by North Florida at the Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, starting on Wednesday.

ABOUT LA TECH
Louisiana Tech qualified 19 athletes across 11 events. The 19 athletes are the most the Bulldogs have qualified in over a decade.

On the women's side, Louisiana Tech qualified 10 athletes across seven events.Â

Tyhra Charles earned a spot in the 200m and joined Patterson and Usenbor in the 4x400.Â

Kimeone McLeod was the other runner to qualify, making her first appearance in the 100m hurdles.Â

The men will kick off the meet on Wednesday with the hammer starting at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the javelin at 1:30 p.m. Smith will start the running events at 5 p.m. Bradley-reed will see his first action at 7:20 p.m.

Ferreiro Pena will be the first to get started on the women's side on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. McLeod will begin on the track at 5 p.m., and the 400m will get started at 7:20 p.m.

The relay teams will proceed directly to the quarterfinals, with the men competing on Friday and the women on Saturday; both are set to start at 7:45 p.m. each day.

A'reil Williams will have their first action on Saturday. The discus will start at noon, and the high jump is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
