Lady Techsters Set to Face LSU in Compete 4 Cause Classic

Tickets go on sale on August 20 at 10 am

RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech women's basketball team will travel to New Orleans to face LSU at the Compete 4 Cause Classic at the Smoothie King Center on December 13.

The matchup marks the 31st all-time meeting between the in-state rivals but their first since the 2016-17 season. It will also be just the second time LSU head coach Kim Mulkey has faced her alma mater, the other coming during her tenure at Baylor.

More than just a game, Compete 4 Cause Classic is rooted in service. The event inspires the participating student-athletes to use their platforms to uplift underrepresented youth in the New Orleans community. Through partnerships with local organizations, United Sports & Entertainment will provide enriching experiences that leave a lasting impact on local youth and foster meaningful engagement between athletes and the city.

The Lady Techsters return 71 percent of their offense, including the sophomore quartet of Paris Bradley, Jordan Marshall, Isla Airey, and Averi Aaron.

The reigning Conference USA Freshman of the Year, Bradley returns after averaging 14.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Her seven 20-point games ranked sixth most among freshman in Techster history.

Marshall recorded 11 double-doubles, the second most in the country by a freshman. Airey finished the second ranked 10th in program history for blocks in a season with 61, ranking third for a freshman. Aaron finished the season strong with five double figure scoring games in the final seven.

Pre-sale tickets for Compete 4 Cause Classic will be available Wednesday, August 20th, at 10:00 am at LATechSports.com/Tickets. Public on-sale will begin on Friday, August 22nd, at 10:00 am. Tickets can be purchased online or in-person at the Smoothie King Center box office.
