RUSTON – Following the opening weekend of the 2025 season, Louisiana Tech returns to action on Tuesday afternoon to play at Alcorn State in a midweek battle.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (1-2)
LA Tech opened the season by defeating Jackson State in five sets before falling to Southeastern and ULM at the Southeastern Showdown in Hammond.  The Bulldogs nearly had the win over the Warhawks, winning the first two sets, but the opponent stormed back to take the match in five.
 
The team finished the weekend with a .164 hitting percentage, tallying 130 kills with an average of 10.0 per set.  Jailen Hurley led the way with 32 total kills followed by Gabrielle Hairston who was named to the All-Tournament Team after recording 24 kills as well as 13.0 blocks.
 
Sydnee Carter and Grace Krohn were the primary setters for the Bulldogs, collecting 48 and 41 assists, respectively.  Defensively, Riley Steubing led the way with 44 digs.
 
ALCORN STATE (0-1)
Alcorn State has played only once so far this season, which was a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-19) home loss to Nicholls.  Rylan Jones and Courtney Carter led the way offensively with a combined 17 kills.
 
THE SERIES
LA Tech leads the all-time series versus Alcorn State, 8-0.  The Bulldogs have never dropped a set to the Lady Braves, which includes a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-14) victory in Ruston last season.
