RUSTON – The first place Lady Techsters return to the Thomas Assembly Center for a Saturday matinee against Jacksonville State at 2:00 p.m.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (14-5, 7-1 CUSA)
The Lady Techsters cruised to their seventh straight win against Kennesaw State, defeating the Owls 72-44 in Ruston. It was the largest margin of victory for LA Tech in conference play this season.

The Owls struck first, but Jianna Morris converted an and-one layup to take the first Lady Techster lead at 7-5, one that would never be relinquished. That play helped contribute to a 12-2 LA Tech run, setting up an 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Techsters continued to stretch big runs, starting the second with a 13-1 run and closing the frame on a 6-0 run. The teams headed to the locker room with a 39-16 gap, with Louisiana Tech only allowing five points in the second quarter.

The Lady Techsters continued to push the gas in the second half, sparking another large run to start the quarter. The lead stretched to as large as 39 midway through the fourth, but Kennesaw State put together their best offensive effort late, closing the game on a 21-10 final five minutes. It was too little too late for the Owls with the Lady Techsters walking away with win number seven in a row, 72-44.

Kaleigh Thompson provided big minutes off the bench, scoring nine points and grabbing a team high six boards. Her +33 plus/minus was the largest on the team and she rejected a team high two shots.

Louisiana Tech currently boasts the best offense in Conference USA. LA Tech leads the league in points per game (74.8), margin (14.3), field goal percentage (44.3), assists (17.3), and assist/turnover ratio (1.02).

The Lady Techsters have won seven games in a row and are first in Conference USA. During their seven game win streak, Louisiana Tech has won six by double figures, an average margin of 15.4 per game. LA Tech has only trailed for a combined 7:59 of game time during its win streak.

Paris Bradley is currently third in the league with 16.9 points per game in conference play. Bradley has scored in double-figures in 11 straight games this season and has failed to reach double-figures only once.

ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE (11-9, 5-3 CUSA)
The Gamecocks were defeated by Sam Houston in Huntsville, 70-51, Thursday night. Jacksonville State claimed the first quarter 23-20, but the Bearkats roared in the second, ripping a 10-0 run to take a 37-27 lead, eventually outscoring Jax State 23-11 in the frame. A Kyera Thornsbury layup closed the gap back to 10 in the third quarter, but Sam Houston would roar again, pushing the lead to 57-41 heading into the final frame. The Bearkats lead was never in danger in the final 10, winning the game 70-51.

Mya Barnes and Eden Sample led the Gamecocks in scoring with 13, while Mina Djurdjevic notched a double-double with 10 points and a team high 11 boards. Jacksonville State turned the ball over 22 times and shot 23.1 percent from deep.
