LA Tech Closes Day One of the Trinity Forest Invitational in Ninth

DALLAS – The Louisiana Tech golf team finished day one of the Trinity Forest Invitational in ninth place, shooting 288, even with par.Â
Oskari Schuvalow and Reda El Hali continued the momentum from Schuvalow's heroics last Tuesday at the Argent Financial Classic, both shooting 70 (-2) and finishing tied for 11th.Â
Schuvalow had a clean front nine, completing every hole at par. On the back nine he had four birdies on holes 13, 14, 16, and 17, but also a bogey on holes. 11 and 18. El Hali had an even better front nine, with three birdies (Nos. 1, 2, 5) and nothing worse than a par. On the back nine he struggled, with four bogeys, but had three birdies on holes 10, 12, and 17.Â
Abel Derksen finished today even with par, with birdies on 1, 9, 11, and 16. He finished today tied for 31st. Aiden Tudor and Morton Bailey had rough days, shooting 76 (+4) and 81 (+9) respectively. Tudor finished tied for 76th, while Bailey is tied for 89th.Â
