Preview: LA Tech at Sea Best Invitational

The Bulldogs open the spring portion of its schedule in Atlantic Beach, Florida

RUSTON – After more than a three-month hiatus, Louisiana Tech begins the spring portion of its schedule as the Bulldogs will be one of 15 teams competing in the Sea Best Invitational.  This will be the first of seven events remaining in the regular season.

Dates: Monday – Tuesday, Feb. 2-3
Location: Atlantic Beach Country Club (Atlantic Beach, Fla.)
Stroke Play: 3 rounds/54 holes (36 holes Monday, 18 holes Tuesday)
Yardage: 6,860 yards | Par 71
Participants: 14 teams | 86 golfers

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH
Riley Hnatyshyn, Morton Bailey, Abel Derksen, Oskari Schuvalow, and Seth Campbell will make up the Bulldogs lineup at the two-day event.
 
Hnatyshyn paces LA Tech with a 73.38 scoring average, participating in three tournaments in the fall.  The senior had two to 35 finishes, including a tie for 31st at the Highlands Invitational.
 
Bailey, who has a scoring average of 74.18, was the top Bulldog for much of the fall, registering two top 20 finishes – tied for 15th at Argent Financial Classic and tied for 13th at the Steelwood Collegiate.  He had a team-high five rounds at or under par, including a season-low 66 (-6).
 
Derksen is set to play in his third event as a Bulldog, having registered a scoring average of 74.80.  Meanwhile, Schuvalow and Campbell played in every fall tournament for LA Tech with scoring averages of 74.09 and 74.18, respectively.  Each posted three rounds at or under par.  Schuvalow was the top Bulldog at the Highlands Invitational, tying for 23rd.
