The 'Dogs are coming off a 5-4 walk-off win over Central Arkansas on Tuesday night to close out a 4-1 five-game homestand, entering the weekend with four consecutive victories. Tech opened league play with a three-game sweep at home over Delaware, outscoring the Blue Hens 31-7 through the weekend.

Tech's defense and pitching has been showing signs of high-level play of late, as they're currently ranked among the top three in CUSA in ERA, fielding percentage, hits allowed per nine innings, strikeouts per nine innings and WHIP.

The 'Dogs have also been hot at the plate since snapping their six-game losing streak, ranking among the top five in CUSA in home runs and slugging percentage. Colby Lunsford remains one of the top hitters in the conference, ranking among the top 10 in slugging percentage, OPS, runs, base hits, doubles and homers.

LA Tech took two of three games from the Aggies in the final weekend of the regular season in 2025, avenging their series loss to NMSU in 2024 when playing in Las Cruces. There were 29 total four-baggers hit during that weekend, with the 'Dogs belting 17 of them.

Five 'Dogs homered in the series-opening 18-4 rout, with Jorge Corona and Cole McConnell each hitting two in the game. The 'Dogs hit eight homers in Game 2, despite falling to the Aggies 16-15 in 13 innings. Corona and Ethan Bates posted three-homer games with Dalton Davis adding two of his own.

Tech's eight homers set a new program single-game record.

The Aggies are 3-5 in their last eight games after etching in a five-game winning streak prior, most recently getting run-ruled by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas, 16-6, in seven innings on Tuesday. NMSU opened CUSA play on the road at DBU, dropping two of three to the Patriots.

DBU took Game 1 with a massive 14-2 eight-inning run-rule win before the Aggies evened the series with a 17-14 shootout victory on Saturday. The bats unfortunately fell cold for the visitors, as the Aggies dropped the rubber game, 20-2, in seven innings.
