EATONTON, Ga. – Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee played over one stroke harder Saturday as Louisiana Tech concluded the second round of the 20th annual Linger Longer Invitational.
Â
The Bulldogs stayed put in 15th place after shooting 10 over (288).  LA Tech struggled to navigate the back nine, which runs along the entire lake. Outside of a couple of big numbers, the 'Dogs found more success on the front, especially the Par 5 No. 6 where they sank a combined three birdies.
Â
Following a team-low 71 in round one,
Seth Campbell followed with a two over 74. The fifth-year senior had a strong run around the turn, making three birdies in the span of five holes. He is currently in 38th on the player leaderboard after 36 holes.
Â
Matching the low round Saturday was
Morton Bailey, who also shot 74. The sophomore went into the final five holes at five over, but rattled off three consecutive birdies on No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 to help finish at two over.
Â
The other two scorecards used for the Bulldogs were that of
Oskari Schuvalow and
Abel Derksen who each shot three over 75.
Â
Georgia, ranked 35th in the country, extended its lead, now holding an 18-stroke advantage.
