BATON ROUGE, La. – #20 LSU made quick work of Louisiana Tech softball on Wednesday night at Tiger Park, defeating the Bulldogs 9-0 in five innings. The loss moves LA Tech to (17-15, 3-6 Conference USA).
The Bulldogs were outhit 8-2 in the loss, with
Allie Furr and
Bradi Gallaway recording singles for Tech. The Tigers recorded five extra base knocks with three home runs and two doubles.
Laney Johnson (4-2) started in the circle and took the loss. The sophomore pitched 0.2 innings and allowed four runs on four hits.
Ruby Fidge followed with 0.2 innings and allowed three runs on two hits.
Bryannah Campos logged the final 2.2 innings and gave up two runs on two hits.
LSU put up four runs in the first and four more in the second before Campos worked a scoreless frame in the bottom of the third.
The Tigers tacked on one run in the bottom of the fourth, taking advantage of a leadoff walk and a double to take a 9-0 lead and secured the win in the fifth after working around a hit batter. The Bulldogs struck out 10 times iin the loss.
