RUSTON – Louisiana Tech men's and women's track and field teams head east on I20 to compete in the Warhawk Classic in Monroe Saturday afternoon for instate competition.

The Bulldogs are coming off another successful meet in Baton Rouge last week, notching six top four makrs in the LSU Alumni Gold meet.
Â
Lukundo Kapambalala ran a 10.27 100m sprint, finishing second and setting the 41
st fastest time in Division I. The run also set a new personal best for the junior.

Jamara Patterson also finished second place, clocking a 51.82 in the women's 400m. Patterson has made the podium three times this outdoor season.

Abdulraof Oriade Rashid ran a 39.97 4x100m relay, missing the podium by only .14 seconds.

Chevoney Reid ran a 3:08.62 in the 4x400m relay, finishing fourth place in Baton Rouge.

Cobe Johnson jumped a 7.28m long jump in the LSU Alumni Gold meet, placing fourth. He has placed top five in four outdoor meets this season in the long jump.

Oscar Smith barely missed a top three finish, running a 13.52 in the men's 110m hurdles. He finished fourth, just 0.01 behind third place. Smith has placed fourth or better four times this season in the 110m hurdles.

The women's 400m team ranks 14
th in the country, per the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, while the men's 100m team ranks 16
th in the country. Both are first place among Conference USA schools.
