RUSTON – Louisiana Tech men's and women's track and field teams travel to Baton Rouge for the second time this outdoor season to compete in the LSU Alumni Gold meet at Bernie Moore Track Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs are coming off a scorching hot finish at the Jim Mize Invitational in Ruston, compiling 24 top three finishes, 10 first place finishes, and two meet records last week.

Karo Oghomi and
Jaitlyn Ware headlined the results, both setting a meet record in their event.
Â
Ware clocked a first place 23.20 200m sprint, setting a new personal best as well as setting the Jim Mize Invitational record. It is her second top three finish in the 200m this outdoor season.

Oghomi finished first place with a 10.15 100m dash, a personal best and facility record at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex. The four-letter senior also set a career best in the 200m, finishing third with a 20.61 time. His 10.15 100m sprint is tied 31
st in the country.

Both the men's and women's 100m relay teams won their events. The men's team of Carl Murray IV,Â
Madonna Favour, Oghomi, and Abdulraof Rashid ran a 40.29, good for first place. The women's team ofÂ
Praise Ofoku,Â
Tyrica Sterrett, Ware, and Azaria Whitehurst also finished first with a time of 45.97.

Nia Wiley set a new season best in the 400m with a 55.16 time, finishing first place.

A'reil Williams got another first place finish with her 1.71m high jump, her third of the year.

Kaitlyn Washington secured her second first place finish of the outdoor season with a 53.27m discus toss, her third toss of over 50m this season.

Cobe Johnson set a new personal best with a 7.55m long jump, winning the event.

Katie Langford securing first (2:14.35) andÂ
Brayden Vining finishing third (1:52.56).

Rounding out the day the men's and women's 4x400m relay teams both finished top three. The women's team of Wiley, Ware, Ofoku, and Omeye won the event with a 3:46.92 time, while the men's team ofÂ
Rickey Williams III, Sebastian Bradley-Reed,Â
Chevoney Reid, andÂ
Nazario Gumbs finished second with a time of 3:14.33.
