RUSTON – Louisiana Tech softball placed two players on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Team, as Gracie Flores and Elena Heng each earned second-team honors.
 
The team was selected by a panel of the state's softball sports information directors and media members.
 
Despite earning her second straight Rawlings Gold Glove as the nation's best defensive center fielder and being named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, Heng was named a second team All-Louisiana outfielder.
 
The Bossier City native started all 56 games in center field for the Bulldogs and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with seven outfield assists and 141 putouts. At the plate, Heng batted .326 with 56 hits and 10 RBIs while leading the team with 35 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. She posted 16 multi-hit games.
 
This marks Heng's second All-Louisiana selection after earning first team honors last season.

Flores was named a second team utility player after playing in 41 games with 28 starts. She made 15 starts at third base, 12 at designated player and one at second base. The redshirt sophomore led the team with a .423 batting average while registering 44 hits, 19 RBI and 11 runs. She totaled 13 multi-hit outings and posted a 21-game hitting streak, the longest streak by a Bulldog since at least 2000.
 
This season's two LSWA selections now gives the program 116 all-time honorees in program history.
