Louisiana Tech cross country opens the 2026 season with an in-state meet in Natchitoches.
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech men's and women's cross country is geared up and set for their first competition of 2026 and in the Sun Belt era, competing in the NSU Demon Invitational on Friday, September 11 at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex in Natchitoches. The women will run the 4k beginning at 5:45 p.m. CT, while the men will run the 6k starting at 6:15 p.m. CT.

TEAMS: Centenary, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State (host)
Friday's meet marks consecutive years LA Tech cross country opens the season with a Northwestern State-hosted meet, competing in the Demon Preview on September 12, 2025. The women finished fourth overall with three top-25 finishes, and the men saw one top-25 finish by Brayden Vining to end as fifth overall as a team.
Vining ended the cross country season last year with five total top-25 finishes, including a first-place finish in the Tiger XC Invite on October 9, 2025 for his first collegiate victory.
Delaney Lopez and Bailey Springer return for the women as two of the top three finishers for LA Tech from the 2025 CUSA Cross Country Championships, and joining Vining as top returners for the men include Jake Pyles, Dillon Sanchez and Arie Linton.
