Oskari Secures First with Eagle on Playoff Hole, Bulldogs Finish Third

CHOUDRANT, LA – The Louisiana Tech golf team finished the fourth annual Argent Financial Classic in third, closing with a 852 (-13) at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, LA.Â
Oskari Schuvalow capped a career-defining tournament with a playoff victory, sinking a 138-yard eagle to clinch the individual title. He is the first Bulldog to win the tournament since Sam Murphy in 2021. Schuvalow shot four under par for the day, with an excellent front nine. He was bogey-free, with a birdie on two holes (No. 1 and 5), and an eagle on No. 9. On the back nine he had back-to-back birdies on No. 12 and 13. He finished the tournament shooting 206 (-10).Â
Morton Bailey dropped six spots from yesterday, but still finished tied for 9th, matching the highest finish of his career  at the 2026 Hal Williams Collegiate. Today, he shot +1, with back-to-back birdies on No. 17 and 18. For the tournament, he shot thirteen birdies. Overall, Bailey shot 212 (-4).
Reda El Hali had a standout back nine, with three consecutive birdies on No. 13, 14, and 15. He finished today -1, concluding his tourney shooting even with par. Over the course of the three days, he had ten birdies and one eagle (round two, No. 17). El Hali finished the tournament tied for 23rd (216, E).Â
Abel Derksen matched his round two score with a 71, one under par. He had a great back nine, with two birdies (No. 11 and 15) and no bogeys. He totaled nine birdies at the Argent Financial Classic. Derksen finished tied for 27th, shooting 218 (+2). Aidan Tudor had his best day, shooting a 73 (+1) with two birdies. He improved his par percentage everyday, finishing with a 223 (+7), tied for 48th.Â
The Bulldogs' B team struggled, coming in 13th (896, +13). Gray Kingrea's round three was the highlight, shooting 70 (-2) and jumping sixteen spots to end tied for 34th (220, +4).Â
Next up, the Bulldogs head to Dallas, Texas to compete in the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, on Sunday Oct. 4 to Tuesday Oct. 6.Â
