Spud Adams begins his second year as a volunteer assistant coach after serving two years as a manager for the Bulldogs. Adams fills the position that was held by Dr. David Szymanski who is now the strength and conditioning coach for the team.

The native of Atlanta, Texas played two years of collegiate baseball. At Angelina Junior College in Lufkin, Texas, he played second base, third base and outfield. He was awarded all-conference as a freshman and a sophomore.
After playing baseball at Angelina, Adams transferred to Tech.
At Atlanta High School, he was a three-year letterman for the Rabbits as the starting shortstop. Adams was awarded all-district, all-area and all-state as a junior and a senior. He was also named district MVP his senior year.
Adams graduated from Tech in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology and health promotion.
