Biography

2011: Played in 48 games, starting 36 as the designated hitter/outfielder... Ended the season with a .301 batting average, 16 RBIs, 18 walks and four stolen bases... Had two hits and a career-high three RBI at McNeese State (2/27)... Tied his career-high with three hits at No. 17 Baylor (3/11)... Went 2-for-4 at the plate against No. 25 Rice (3/18)... Had the game-tying RBI double at No. 25 Rice (3/19)... Went 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBI against UTPA (3/25)... Was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Tech[apos]s win at Northwestern State (4/27)... Was 3-for-6 with two runs scored in Tech[apos]s sweep of a doubleheader against Nevada (4/30)... Had a base hit, RBI and a run scored in the series finales with Nevada (5/1)... Had five hits and scored five runs in Tech[apos]s series split with No. 19 Fresno State... 2009: Played in 20 games while starting nine... Reached base in his first seven games of the season... Totaled his first collegiate hit, a single, in game one of Tech[apos]s doubleheader at McNeese State (2/28)... Went on to total a five-game hitting streak during the stretch, his longest of his career (2/28-3/10)... Beat out a run-scoring infield single in the series finale at Hawai[apos]i to give his team a one-run lead in the ninth inning... Tech went on to win by one, 8-7 (5/3)... Played summer league ball for the Liberal Bee Jays... Earned first team all-Jayhawk League and National Baseball Congress World Series all-American honors.

2008: Redshirt season.

High School: Lettered three seasons for Airline High School under coach Toby Todd... Named honorable mention all-district as a sophomore... Named first-team all-district as a junior and a senior... Earned all-city and all-state honors as a senior... Helped lead the Vikings to district championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and a berth in the state quarterfinals in 2007... Also played football for three years as a wide receiver... Member of National Honor Society... Played two years for the Gametime Academy Angels and one year for the Bossier City Cyclones in summer ball, winning a state title with the Cyclones in 2007.
