Ryan Jones begins his first year as a media relations intern at Louisiana Tech. His primary responsibilities are baseball, women[apos]s soccer, and women[apos]s bowling. Jones graduated from Saint Leo University in May 2008 with a bachelor[apos]s degree in sport business. As a junior at Saint Leo, he was a student worker for the sports information department. He also worked in the ticket office for the Philadelphia Phillies High-A minor league team, the Clearwater Threshers. During his senior year, he was awarded Co-Sport Business Major of the Year by the university. During the summer of 2007, the Bolingbrook, Ill., native was an intern for the Brevard County Manatees, the Milwaukee Brewers High-A team. With the Manatees, Ryan learned all facets of the business of Minor League Baseball. Ryan also worked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2007 football season as a game day employee in the luxury suites. Prior to joining the athletic media relations department at Tech, Ryan interned for the Lakeland Flying Tigers, the Detroit Tigers High-A team. For the Flying Tigers, he handled all media relations duties, including the authoring of press releases, the designing of a new website, maintaining the team[apos]s current website, developing graphics for the video board, and handling interview requests.
