Gerald Jordan enters his 11th year at Louisiana Tech, with a new title as the Deputy Athletic Director, a role he started in fall of 2023.
Jordan, a native of Mountain City, Tenn., spent his first four years at LA Tech as the head of the University's Sports Medicine Department before making the transition to Senior Associate AD for Competitive Excellence in May of 2019.

In addition to serving on Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey’s executive staff, his role includes the oversight of the sports medicine and sports performance departments, the equipment room, internal operations, and all capital improvements within the athletic department . He has also is the sport administrator for football and baseball.

He assists in the scheduling, supervision and administration of all athletic facilities while also maintaining relationships with campus constituents, campus security, visiting groups and outside organizations. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the athletic department’s partnership with Adidas America, Inc.
Jordan spent 12 years at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, working his way from an assistant athletic trainer to the rank of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Health and Sport Performance.
Jordan went to Delta State after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. His primary responsibilities at The Citadel included football and soccer. Prior to his time at The Citadel, Jordan began his master's work at Penn State University in the fall of 2001, having worked with men's soccer and women's lacrosse.
He received his master's in health education from Penn State University in 2003. He received his bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University in 2001.
Jordan is married to the former Samantha Bailey and the couple resides in Ruston.
