Kevin Caballero

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Kevin Caballero moves into his fifth season on the Bulldog staff.  Since joining the Bulldog program, Caballero has proven to be invaluable to the Louisiana Tech program, helping coordinate most of the program's day-to-day activities.

During the 2001-02 season, Caballero joined head coach Keith Richard in guiding the Bulldogs to a postseason bid in the NIT, Tech's first postseason action in 10 years.

Caballero returned to the coaching profession after spending six successful years in the business world.  His main responsibilities with the team are handling all administrative aspects of the program as well as on the floor coaching.

Caballero spent two seasons as head coach of the West Ouachita High School boys teams, guiding the team to a 31-22 record, including a 17-10 season his second season.  He helped two of his players garner all-district honors during that time.

Before coaching the boys team at West Ouachita, Caballero spent two seasons as the girls coach at the school.  He led the team to a 16-10 record his first season and coached three girls onto the all-district team.

Caballero and head coach Keith Richard both attended Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge where they helped lead their team to a state championship.  The Baton Rouge native earned his bachelor's degree in education from ULM in 1989.

Cabellero has a son, Clint, and a daughter, Kaley.
