    Director - Creative and Branding
Ben Retzlaff is entering his second season with Louisiana Tech and Coach Eric Konkol, working as the director for creative and branding for men’s basketball.

In his first season with Louisiana Tech, Retzlaff was part of a team that went 24-8 while capturing a C-USA West Division Championship and third place finish in the NIT. While retaining some graduate manager duties, Retzlaff’s main role is developing graphics for prospective recruits, select social media projects with sports information director Kane McGuire, and content creation to promote current players and the whole program’s brand amidst the surge of NIL.

Retzlaff came to Louisiana Tech from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he was a student assistant coach with the men’s basketball program for three years. Under Coach Matt Siverling, Retzlaff was involved with on-court coaching, opponent scouting, recruiting, media relations, graphic design, and organizing camps. In 2019-20, the Blugolds went 20-10 and earned a birth to the DIII NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.

Over the past three summers, Retzlaff has worked basketball camps for Dayton, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Marquette, and Texas A&M. He also assisted with the operations of the inaugural NCAA Academy in 2019 at the University of Illinois.

As a student, Retzlaff graduated cum laude from UW-Eau Claire in the spring of 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations.

He is currently pursuing his master’s degree at LA Tech in Business Administration.

Retzlaff is a native of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where he was an all-state guard and helped lead McDonell Central High School to the 2016 WIAA Division 5 State Championship. He went on and played one season collegiately at St. Norbert College for Coach Gary Grzesk in 2016-17 before getting into coaching.

Retzlaff is the son of Scott and Michelle Retzlaff.
