Former LA Tech standout Madie Green enters her first season as an assistant for the Bulldog Softball program.
Green starred as an outfielder at Louisiana Tech from 2020-22. Following her accomplished playing career, Green worked as a skill instructor at Game Train in Roanoke, Texas where she gave private Softball instruction in hitting, fielding and pitching. She also coached travel ball for the Texas Fusion and Glory Adkins organizations following her playing career and during the summers while she was in college.
She played a pivotal role in Tech’s 2022 Conference USA Championship while earning Second-Team All CUSA honors. Green batted .316 with 42 hits, including nine doubles and 13 home runs. Her 13 round trippers still stand as the third most in a single season in Tech history. The Keller, Texas native led Tech with 39 RBI and posted 12 multi-RBI games during the season.
As a junior in 2021 she saw action in 45 games, making 41 starts while posting a .297 batting average with 35 hits, including eight doubles, two triples and four home runs. She led Tech with a team-high 22 runs. Green made history when she hit the first ever home run at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field (vs. Grambling State, April 21).
Green transferred to Tech in 2020 and made an immediate impact in the COVID-shortened season, batting .303 with 10 hits in 33 at bats while leading the team with four home runs and tying for team lead with nine runs scored and seven RBI.
Green also excelled in the classroom being named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times and earning NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors as a senior.
Prior to her career at Tech, Green spent her freshman and sophomore seasons at Henderson State where she was a two-time all-Great American Conference selection. She batted .293 with nine doubles, seven home runs, 31 RBI and 24 runs scored as a sophomore. She was named the Henderson State Female Newcomer of the Year in 2018 after leading the Reddies with 40 runs scored, 38 RBIs, 10 home runs, and 19 walks as a freshman.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Louisiana Tech in 2021 while earning her master’s degree from in Counseling and Guidance in Human Services from LA Tech in 2022.
