Former Louisiana Tech standout Madie Green enters her fourth season as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs in 2027, working primarily with the program’s outfielders.
Since joining the coaching staff prior to the 2024 season, Green has helped develop multiple All-Conference USA outfielders while contributing to three consecutive 30-win seasons for the Bulldogs.
Alexis Gilio earned All-CUSA honors in each of Green’s first two seasons on staff, including first-team recognition in 2024 and second-team honors in 2025. Gilio batted .383 with 64 hits and 14 stolen bases in 2024 before putting together another all-conference season as a senior in 2025.
Allie Furr continued the run of all-conference outfielders in 2026, earning second-team All-CUSA honors. Furr led the Bulldogs with a .357 batting average and 65 hits, with her hit total tying for ninth-most in a single season in program history. She also recorded 18 multi-hit games and a 14-game hitting streak.
Green’s coaching career at Louisiana Tech followed an accomplished playing career in Ruston.
An outfielder for the Bulldogs from 2020-22, Green played a pivotal role in Tech’s run to the 2022 Conference USA regular-season championship while earning second-team All-CUSA honors. She batted .316 with 42 hits, nine doubles and 13 home runs while leading the Bulldogs with 39 RBI. Her 13 home runs tied for the third-most in a single season in program history at the time.
Green also made history during her playing career by hitting the first home run at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field against Grambling State on April 21, 2021.
She excelled in the classroom as well, earning a spot on the CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times and receiving NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors as a senior.
Before transferring to Louisiana Tech, Green played two seasons at Henderson State, where she was a two-time All-Great American Conference selection and was named the school’s Female Newcomer of the Year in 2018.
Following her playing career at Tech, Green worked as a skill instructor at Game Train in Roanoke, Texas, providing private instruction in hitting, fielding and pitching. She also coached travel softball with the Texas Fusion and Glory Adkins organizations.
Green earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Louisiana Tech in 2021 and her master’s degree in counseling and guidance in human services from Tech in 2022.
