Claudia Oravcova enters her third season as an assistant coach on the Louisiana Tech Tennis staff.

Oravcova has been part of two of the best seasons in LA Tech history. In 2023, the Bulldogs registered a 20-6 overall record which was the second most victories in program history. They also had their highest finish ever in Conference USA while advancing to the semifinals of the CUSA Tournament for the first time ever.

The Bulldogs finished the season ranked No. 73 in the country, being ranked in the last six polls after making their debut at No. 64 (highest ranking ever). They also finished ranked No. 5 in the ITA Southern Region, their highest ever.

Three Bulldogs earned All-Conference USA honors -- Leonie Schuknecht (First Team Singles), Olga Bienzobas (Second Team Singles, Second Team Doubles), and Alexia Romero (Second Team Doubles).

In her first year as an assistant coach with the program, LA Tech went 18-6 including a program-setting 14-match winning streak as well as a 12-match home winning streak, which was also a new record.

LA Tech ended up totaling 81 dual singles wins and 39 dual doubles wins. Five different players reached double-digit singles victories, led by seniors Ilana Tetruashvili (17 wins) and Najah Dawson (14 wins) who were both named Second Team All-Louisiana. Dawson was also voted Louisiana Newcomer of the Year, becoming the first LA Tech player in school history to receive this award.

LA Tech came in at No. 9 in the ITA Southern Region rankings, marking the first time since 2016 that the program finished the season ranked in the top 10 of its region.

Oravcova transitioned to coaching after concluding her four-year career on the courts for LA Tech, having been a three-time CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and an ITA Scholar-Athlete while earning a degree in Management.

She was a consistent winner on the courts, producing 89 career victories. She registered eight dual victories in singles each of her last three springs and ranked up 44 career dual doubles victories, tied for the third most in program history.

The Slovakia native also earned her MBA from LA Tech.
