Louisiana Tech volleyball head coach Amber McCray announced the hiring of Bella Borgiotti as assistant coach.
Borgiotti brings over a decade of playing and coaching experience to Ruston, having recently been an assistant for the women’s indoor and beach teams as well as the men’s beach team at Stevenson University in Maryland.
Borgiotti was part of a staff that guided the women’s indoor team to a 25-6 overall record in 2022 while advancing to the Mustangs 10th straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth championship. The team went on to receive an at-large bid to the Division III NCAA Tournament.
Four Mustangs earned MAC Commonwealth All-Conference honors including outside hitter Shannon Baily who was also an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American after totaling 328 kills while hitting .241.
The women’s beach volleyball team was equally as impressive in 2022, going 26-7 including an eight-match winning streak. The Mustangs finished third at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships.
While at Stevenson, Borgiotti also was 17s head coach at the Virginia Juniors and Columbia Volleyball Academy. In years prior, she served as 18s assistant coach and setting coordinator at Columbia Volleyball Academy plus 15s/18s head coach and setting coordinator at NC Coastal Carolina.
Borgiotti was a four-year student-athlete, playing two years apiece at East Carolina (2013-14) and UNC Wilmington (2015-16) as a setter. She also played beach volleyball at UNCW for two seasons (2016-17).
As a junior for the Seahawks, she helped the program to a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament championship and a first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
