Freshman forward Paul Millsap hasn't wasted any time making an impact on the Louisiana Tech basketball team, and the Louisiana Sports Writers Association has taken notice.

Millsap (6-7, 225) was named the LSWA Player of the Week Wednesday for his
efforts in Louisiana Tech's lone game last week, an 82-47 home win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

The true freshman out of Grambling, La., poured in a career-high 18 points while tallying his third double-double of the season with 13 rebounds along with two blocks, two steals and an assist. He shot .800 from the floor in the win over UAPB, hitting on 8-of-10 attempts.

Millsap leads the Western Athletic Conference and ranks No. 10 in NCAA rebounding stats with 11.2 rpg and has played a vital role in Louisiana Tech being ranked No. 3 in NCAA rebound margin statistics.

Louisiana Tech took home both LSWA Player of the Week honors with Lady Techster Trina Frierson picking up the women's award.
